Bring half the clothes and twice the cash...

Please help remind me what we need cash for. Most places take credit cards, but cash is needed for:

Taxi rides
Mooring fees
Trash / ice while on a mooring
Restocking beer, etc from Deliverance
Some souvenir shops
Tips for porters, dock hands, helpful people at the charter base

What else should I bring cash for?

Most places will not accept a cc for less than $20.

My original thought is....who spends less than $20 anywhere? <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/jester.gif" alt="" />
And actually I am taking more cash these times to cut down on CC use and the exposure for electronic fraud/theft

Some restaurants don't accept credit cards [color:"red"]at all[/color]. Not many, but several I can think of don't. Some stores as well. Be sure to ask first.

Some beach bars are cash only, e.g. Flash of Beauty (Anegada). Also, it has happened to me more than once on JVD and Anegada that the vendor's CC machine was unable to connect to the bank due to poor telephone line conditions. When heading ashore on the smaller islands for a day trip or dinner, we carry just enough cash to cover the expected purchases to avoid any inconvenience.

Since the use of a credit card is contingent on
A: electricity, and B:communication services, cash is king when A&B ain't working, which happens.

Seems there's very few places where that's a problem though <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Yikes.gif" alt="" />
