Lots of threads on this topic
Some suggestions 1 - Get your quote to be all in, ie includes, tax, liabilty insurance [collision normally covered on a cc], extra drivers if needed
2 - decide if you want to get the car at the airport [or nearby] when you land or take a cab and get the car the next day delivered to where you are staying [the latter is our approach - if you decide to go that route, try Wilfred Brooks, a TTOL sponsor]
3 - 6 people and 1 car is a lot, you will need a large car, which is not so friendly on the roads, consider 2 smaller cars so you can split up some days if desired
4 - we print the Fr and Dutch bridge and causeway opening times and put the list in the glove box for reference - very handy
Have fun J&B

Yeah, that's a very good point, regarding 6 people in a large car. Difficult to park and a car that seats 6 is also more expensive than your typical economy car. And for sure 6 adults may not want to go the same place all the time. I might get quotes both ways and decide what you want to do. I personally would probably opt for 2 small cars.

BrandNewDay said: Hi All, It has been more than a few years since SXM. We are returning in May with 2 other couples. Who are the current best, trustworthy companies that you have used recently. Have the roads improved any lately? Any input would be appreciated, Thanks Bill Guess I will be the only one to say unless the people you are bringing are NOT new to the island, I would rent one car, over the years when we have brought other couples and kids we always rented a van type vehicle or smaller 6 passenger cars and never had an issue parking or getting around. Plus it's fun traveling together and site seeing. Plus you won't have one couple "left out" traveling alone. Newbies could be very intimidated driving on then island - heck I know someonr who has been going for over 40 years that won't drive there!! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Kiss.gif" alt="" /> So I would just go with the bigger car.
