LOL I can see the beach, cars driving in and out, people walking along the road, planes coming in and out. That is all I want from this beach cam!!

I was just watching, and a view shows KLM 785 ready to Taxi, but it has been there for quite a while. I was hoping to see it depart.

Try getting a step stool, shorter users do find it harder to see over the umbrellas. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/jester.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/jester.gif" alt="" />

I get what the OP is saying. You can't see the whole beach like you used too due to the umbrellas.

I wonder if,since the beach is almost gone now, they moved the umbrellas from the beach to the porch? Maybe that's why we cant see much compared to earlier in the week.

I must have been a bit ahead of you, timewise. I saw the "announcement", and then a few minutes later saw the flight taxi and takeoff. The camera switched between the 747 and the people on the beach, and then switched back to the 747 for the takeoff. I had clicked the ATC button to "on", and heard radio traffic with several incoming flights, and with the departing KLM 747.

You have to look early in the day before they open the umbrellas. Right now (7.50 a.m.) you can see the whole beach. Narrow and lots of rocks showing.

There is a Contact link at the bottom of the page. I have sent a question about the view.

View is fine by me. All I care about is seeing the planes coming and leaving along with the horizon. Has never been a great sandy beach for viewing with or with out the umbrellas.

Umbrella tops?
I preferred the old SSBB cam which facilitated supervision of "Free Drinkers" without tops!

Reply from web cam operator:
"Sunset Bar unilaterally elevated all their umbrellas when installing permanent bases.

The view is not completely blocked, just the near end of the beach."

The other view that's blocked is looking out over the water for planes coming in! The side of the building blocks a lot of it. Hmmmmm.......

It's been off-line again since sometime yesterday afternoon.

By the way, Happy Memorial Day to all!

The note under the cam says that they are offline as a result of a power outage, but our power didn't go out here, as far as I know...

It's back up!! We just now saw it land, and then went to the webcam to see it taxi!! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/duh.gif" alt="" /> It's easier to see from the other end here. Think I'll mosey down to the pool!!
