Of course the weather was gorgeous yesterday, our last day. We had a 6:20 PM JetBlue flight - operative word is had. (More on that later).

Bruno had no one checking into our unit until Monday so he generously offered us a late check out. Our intention was to stay by the pool for the day but we received an invitation to spend the day with our dear friends Cece & Nigel at their villa in Terre Basses. We packed and were on our way by noon after our goodbyes to Bruno and family.
Spent the day relaxing at their pool, drinking wine and eating wonderful French cheese with several types of salami’s and meats they had picked up. It was a wonderful way to end our vacation.

Arrived at the airport and boarded our flight. Captain informed us there was a small mechanical issue that wouldn’t affect our flight but they couldn’t leave until the FAA approved departure. The Pilot kept us informed every 20 minutes, let us walk around and crew handed out water. We never left the gate and at 7 PM he told us we could go back inside and walk around. At this point aside from a small kiosk near the smoking room everything was shut down. We all returned to the plane around 8:15 PM at that time the Captain explained the FAA also needed to hear from Airbus that we were clear and receive paper work before departure. Airbus org was in France so finally at 9 PM flight was cleared and we were off. Arrived home at 1:00 AM. So this time the return flight was eventful but under the circumstances they made it as comfortable as possible and in actuality we were only delayed about 2 ½ hours.

Rented phone from Sharon, great service from her and staff and great reception all over the island, never a problem with phone. Again we rented, number 17 our Green Rav 4 from Unity. Crew is friendly, efficient and never had a problem. We did not witness any crime while there and the mosquito’s weren’t bad at all although late I woke up and couldn’t stop scratching my calves. Lots of bites but nothing like I had in April. We are booked for next year and looking forward to it with quite possibly a trip in the spring or summer.
