I'm a bigger guy with a titanium shoulder. Best dink advice I ever got was to always go in from the back because it's the lowest/closest to the water. Then, most dinghy engines have a little step on the inside of the propeller. Use that step and push up. Saved my butt when we had tied up at the Baths.
