My husband and I arrived on New Year's Day to see all the Mega Yachts in Simpson Bay. We spent 3 glorious days at Mary's Boon and enjoyed the peaceful and beautiful beach. We checked into the Pelican on 1/4 when the our daughter and 2 friends arrived. Our daughter has been to St Martin many times so it made our trip more enjoyable, having her to show us around. Both her and my son had been there for Thanksgiving and are friends with people that live in St Martin. We enjoyed our dinners out at Uncle Harry's, La Rosa Too, Peg Leg, Valentino's, Topper's By the Sea, Skip Jack's, Pineapple Pete's and Boathouse. Our days were spent on the beach. We did take the cruise on Simpson Bay from the Pelican and it was lovely, we really enjoyed it. My husband and I vacation every January in Aruba, the children wanted us to try St Martin, we are glad we did. We liked it a lot and had a great vacation but the 2 islands are different and it is a different type of vacation. We spent our evenings at the Red Piano which was very nice. The greatest part of this trip was being shocked when our son surprised us and showed up on the beach on Tuesday 1/6, he had chartered a boat to take us out and show us around the island from the water. So the 6 of us and an island friend packed our coolers and headed out on Thursday for a lovely day on the boat. We also toured the island by car. We enjoyed our drinks at Sunset Grill and Driftwood watching the planes land and take off. This was a wonderful, relaxing vacation that is filled with great memories. Our son hadn't vacationed with us in 7 years, he never wanted to meet us in Aruba. St Martin is his favorite place. I can understand why, and he has made many friends there. I now have to vacation in St Martin and Aruba.
