This is my final post for this trip to St Maarten and Anguilla. Our daily trip reports have been posted to syntropical, complete with short videos we shot each day.
It has been a great trip. The weather was perfect, including some welcome rain to break up the routine.

We want to provide a brief review of the establishments and excursions we patronized, with a bullet review of each, so here goes:

Excursions

Celine Friday Sail – great trip; hospitable crew; be prepared for a long day in the sun and surf.

Rhino Riders – Good fun; fast little stable boats; no beach, so if you don’t snorkel, you’re on the boat the entire time (2-3 hours).

GB Express Ferry to Anguilla
Much, much better than departing from Marigot. Fast, stable cruiser; Open and airy, no chance for seasickness.

Packlight Chair and Umbrella Rental
Excellent service; good (but used) equipment fairly priced; saves a ton of $$$ from renting beach stuff. If Craig says he'll be there, he'll be there, on time. Please reciprocate.

Restaurants
Toppers
Excellent and fast service; make reservations – it’s very popular; great pasta and seafood dishes. Vegetarian friendly.

Toppers by the Sea
Why is service so much worse than Toppers Restaurant? Need to bring back the manager (young brunette) from last season. Limited menu and they were out of a couple items requested.

Buccaneer Beach Bar
Great beach food; quick service (don’t wait for a waitress – order at the bar)

Everyone knows this one in SXM at Maho Beach where the big jets land! Pretty good beach bar food; great service

Top Carrot
Breakfast and lunch only; Good vegetarian and smoothie menu; service could be better;

SkipJacks
Good food with big portions; Service needs attention!

E’s Oven (Anguilla)
Excellent fare; make reservations.

Flamingo Beach Resort
The place is looking good after the hurricane damage a few years ago. Fresh paint and two working elevators! The staff tries to be friendly, but customer service is not their main concern. For example, we requested a hospitality suite for post-checkout clean up on our Tuesday departure date. We were initially told that such service is only provided on weekends. Wrong answer. Luckily a manager overheard and countered the clerk’s lame excuse. Check in was a nightmare.

Lloyds B&B (Anguilla)
Staying here won’t endear you to your high society friends, so you don’t have to tell them. But it will make you feel like authentic Caribbean does not mean slow, uncaring service.
