With all the fuss about VI Airlink, I have to ask where do they go? They do no advertising or have any presence on TTOL, Trip Advisor etc. They are now complaining about the new airline to/from Miami BVI Airways, who want to start service.
To me it all seems very strange. If I were VI Airlink, I would have worked with BVI Airways to provide passengers from other islands with my airline. However that does not seems to be the BVI way of life.

VI Airlink asked for this very route a few years ago there was mention in the local media but all to no avail as the Government chose not to support them.
They fly all over the Caribbean and to Puerto Rico and if the Government had backed them instead of BVI Airways they would of been probably in the same position as BVI Airways is with Inter Caribbean.
They are also constantly mentioned on TTOL and at a drop of a hat and at no charge put their plane in the air to search for a missing boat that had went down and only through their help were the 4 people rescued after being in the water for nearly 3 hours.
Perhaps that's what all the fuss is about.

VI Airlink is owned by the Neville Brathwaite family. They have never been on the "in" with the BVI government. They were the owners of Clair Aero, which was shut down by the BVI government many years ago.
BVI Airways likely has some ownership by the BVI Investment Club - also known as the NDP.
