Hey all. For folks in the DC area, I was searching flights for November and the United non-stop is showing up on Saturdays again. How real do you think this is? I'm hesitant to book and then have them switch me to a flight via EWR with either a ridiculously short layover or an overnight.

United Airlines is also showing today a NON STOP from CHICAGO on Saturdays starting in January and pretty cheap fares too. Fares will go up as the flights fills up I am sure. How is the airport going to handle all these flights and where are people going to stay???....seems like not enough Hotels open yet. I'm gonna book a flight soon and get my Hotel dates locked in. A lot of my friends bailed out of SXM to early last winter and regretted it later when they could not get cheap airfare anymore and froze at home.

The only thing I can say is that if you book a nonstop and they change it to a connecting flight, you can cancel with no penalty and get all your money back. They know that, so they will be more flexible with you in terms of possibly changing a date, etc., if it works for you. Otherwise, IF you can find another flight on another airline which suits you, you can cancel and book with another airline.

Ok, that's good to know. I went ahead and booked, because for the dates we were searching, their price was the best!

OK. I sure wish they had that flight when we lived in Northern Virginia! Anyway, I'm sure you know that you need to keep checking on the flight pretty often, just to make sure it's still there. Don't depend on the airline to notify you of a schedule change.

We're booked on the non-stop out of IAD on Nov. 30. Got our fingers crossed!

Those IAD and ORD flights are listed as resuming beginning November 3.
