The only thing I can say is that if you book a nonstop and they change it to a connecting flight, you can cancel with no penalty and get all your money back. They know that, so they will be more flexible with you in terms of possibly changing a date, etc., if it works for you. Otherwise, IF you can find another flight on another airline which suits you, you can cancel and book with another airline.

OK. I sure wish they had that flight when we lived in Northern Virginia! Anyway, I'm sure you know that you need to keep checking on the flight pretty often, just to make sure it's still there. Don't depend on the airline to notify you of a schedule change.
