Before the hurricanes, there was talk of Jet Blue or Spirit starting FLL-SXM flights. Plans were obviously put on hold. Anyone have an update? Thanks. Hoping to be there in May.

Spirit appears to be operating one flight a week on Saturdays.

Until there is more room/lodging capacity and a better functioning airport that is able to handle more planes and passengers, I would not count on much if any new service.

Spirit has been doing FLL flights for a few years. The talk was that Jet Blue and/or SOUTHWEST would start FLL flights, but as JD said, until the lodging and airport situation improves, there will not be any new flights.

Spirit appears to be operating one flight a week on Saturdays. And if that flight has complications you'll have another week in St Maarten.

JetBlue is watching the progress of the island's recovery, and especially the increasing number of available accommodations. I think they'll continue to do that until we all know what kind of hurricane season we'll be having. Once that hurdle is clear, they'll be able to put flights in place. 2019 is a pretty sure bet... the big question is when. Right now it has not been decided. They'd like to be able to do it soon, too. We've been watching them, Southwest, and others; there is no doubt of flight increases coming.
