Just back from 11 beautiful days land based. Few wonderful surprises: The Clubhouse at Frenchmen's Cay, one of the best meals on island ever, the presentation was fabulous and prices very reasonable and the location!!!! Omar's de best cup Soper's Hole, amazing veggie sandwich again prices reasonable. Peg's Leg another suprisingly great meal!
Some constants: Bananakeet flawless as usual and thank you Chris for your never ending hospitality and greeting us so warmly every visit! Palm's Delight ginger wine chicken super as usual.
Disappointments: Provisioning from Riteway... way way overpriced, eggs were broken when we went into Harbour Market they asked where the eggs were? Didn't think to save the runny mess at the bottom of the box. Will not provision again, will stop at Big Ben's for immediate necessities and then venture into Roadtown the next day.
Our visits to Jolly Roger were heartbreaking, run down, dirty, fly infested, specials were few and dull, menus were filthy and totally deteriorating, a lot of good staff gone more leaving and then the word through the grapevine was not good either. Some people walked out one night for exactly the reasons I listed. So sad this was always our several nights out desination wouldn't even consider it now.
Lou you are so missed!
Great weather great everything! I am homesick already (or DIF).
