This morning the cam is pointed towards Philipsburg. Beautiful view. I see smoke from the cruise ship, but also some drifting south from like the salt pond area. Is that smoke from the dump fire?

Yes it is. Sometimes we’ll caught a wiff of it, but not that bad. We feel so sorry for the folks around it, it was raging the other day!

There was a warning 2 days ago for people to take precautions because of the toxic smoke.

Is this a new dump since Irma. I only recall hearing about the one near Cul-De-Sac.
The current webcam angle is a really interesting and a very different prospective on Philipsburg. It seems like you should almost be able to see the zip liners at the Rainforest Adventure.

There has been a dump on the Pondfill for decades. The Irma dump is new, right next door to the old one. They both burn almost continuously..

I guess I never realized that. I know where you mean geographically, I guess never spend much time in and around Philipsburg.
