Appreciate all the great info on this forum. We'll be doing a 5 night charter through The Moorings on a 514PC with a skipper, sleep aboard Sun 2/23, returning Sat 2/29. Four couples, celebrating a couple of 50th bdays. Going to order provisions this weekend through the Moorings website, and order booze through Tico's and CC. We all are on the same flight, landing Sunday mid-afternoon. We'll take the fast ferry to Road Town.

Preliminary itinerary is as follows:

Monday: Norman - Wily-T, maybe stay in Peter Island for the night (Deadman's Bay?)
Tue: Baths in the AM then to Marina Cay or Leverick
Wed: Diamond Cay
Thurs: JVD - Soggy during the day, Great Harbour/Foxy's at night
Friday: Cooper

Welcome to suggestions, advice, tips etc. Thanks in advance.

What about Anegada? With that boat you can get up there quickly and I would take that over Cooper anyday

My suggestion...and Happy 50th

Monday: Norman - Wily-T, maybe stay in Peter Island for the night (Deadman's Bay?)
Tue: leverick and then take taxi to baths and dinner coco maya
Wed: Anegada
Thurs: Diamond Cay
Friday: VD - Soggy during the day, Great Harbour/Foxy's at night

ANy reason why you are spending 2 days on Jost?
You could also rejig your itinerary and stay in Leverick for the beach BBQ on a Friday. We always try to tie the Friday night BBQ and Jumbies performance into our schedule. One of the best BBQs I have ever had! Captain can worry about getting up early and getting you back to moorings base before 10AM on the sat.

The below (suggested - take it or leave it!) Itinerary does not include Anegada - If it is your first time there is enough to enjoy around Tortola and outer islands. Also only 5 days and you can save Anegada for your next trip!

How about
Monday - Cooper/Peter island - if cooper dinner/drinks, if peter dinner/drinks at Ocean's 7 beach club
Tue - Norman stay in the bight- dinner at Pirates Bight (to willy T to keep the party going!)
Wed - Jost - day at white bay dinner at Corsairs
Th - stop at Sandy Island, or Diamond Cay for lunch - Cain Garden Bay for night - taxi to Bananakeet or the D'coal Pot for dinner
Friday - Head to Leverick - rent car to baths and tour island, Friday Night Leverick BBQ
Sat - back to base

Cheers!

Thanks for the feedback. I want to make sure we have plenty of time to just hang out on the boat, snorkel, lots of floating in the water with drinks in hand. We rented SUP boards. The challenge of wanting to see a lot but also don't want to feel rushed and always on the move.

I would love to hear what you ended up doing and the provisions etc. Think we are chartering the same boat in April! Trying to finalize food etc. Will keep watching post for others answers/suggestions.

It is a great boat....Moorings has a new provisioning site and it still has bugs so i will be curious as to any differences. we usually online provision for big heavy stuff and send crew across for other stuff

OP- I would still recommend Anegada and skip 2 days Jost as someone else mentioned and keep at 1

with that power cat it is a quick ride up from leverick to anegada

Monday: White Bay afternoon followed by Great Harbor on Jost Van Dyke; Tuesday: Norman Island for swimming/snorkeling The Indians and/or The Caves, followed by evening at Kelly's Cove and dinner at Pirates, drinks and music aboard the Willy T; Wednesday: Early morning hike up the ridge at Norman (trail behind Pirates), then off to Cooper, followed by swim/snorkel at Cistern Point or just hang at the beach, followed by dinner at the Cooper Island Beach Club; Thursday: (if weather permitting) a run to Anegada, otherwise head to Scrub Island and enjoy the resort pool and dinner; Friday: Snorkel/swim somewhere around The Dogs or Mountain Point before moving to Leverick Bay Marina, followed by taxi or rental to The Baths and hike the trail. Stop at Hog Heaven for a drink and pictures, followed by the Friday night BBQ and Jumbie show at Leverick; Saturday morning head to Oil Nut Bay Marina for lunch before returning to your charter base.

Slow down. Enjoy your time. Don't try to cram in too much. You'll be back!!!

I've seen these questions before and have been afraid to ask. All my experience is on sailboats so I don't allow for more than 5knts and often plan on going slower when trying to estimate departure and arrivals.

Regarding Power Cats, what do you allow for speed? When someone says they're going Norman to Jost I have no idea how much time to allow for that on a power cat.

The 514PC at Moorings tops out around 22-25 knts...it goes through a lot of gas at the upper end

Distance from Leverick to Anegada about 12-13NM. You can get pretty much anywhere quickly. I get up 530 or 600 and will usually leave 700 for next destination putting my crew that likes to sleep in the foreward cabins.

Second that Mal. I loved Marina Cay but nothing there now. Leverick rocks now.

In regards to using Moorings for provisioning; do you know or does anyone know how the prices are compared to going with Riteway?

Prices are comparable according to my better half. Convenience can’t be beat. We normally do the bulk of our provisioning via the Moorings and walk over to Riteway for filler items.

After hearing the feedback here is my new tentative itinerary. There were two requests from members of my crew...Wily T and Baths. So...
Monday: Norman
Tues: Baths early, then head to Anegada
Wed: Anegada
Thurs: Diamond Cay
Friday: JVD (Soggy during the day, Foxy's at night)
