We spent 10 relaxing days on the Island basically doing nothing with nothing planed and didn't even leave our hotel beach (Grand Case Beach Club) for 2 days....... Nice hotel with a good restaurant, water sports, small boutique, laundry, air cond. 24 hour security and 2 small beaches with the clearest water on the Island. Value car Rental is on site which we used and had no problems. We had a 1 bedroom with the loft, refrigerator, stove, all utinsels, coffee maker and a CD player and Satellite T.V.
Did the America's Cup and won the race on the Canadian Boat North Shore IV. It was fun and all had a good time. It was espically fun to personally sail a 15 Million $ Racing Yacht. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/pirate.gif" alt="" />
Went to Mr. B's at Dawn Beach and hung out 1 day with the boat people for $10.00 which included 2 chairs and a umbrella and all the the Caribs for a buck a piece. Every time I ordered 2 beers the sand waiter would come back with 3............ I kept thinking who else is ordering at the same time I do? I watched the waiter go down the line and when he got where he couldn't be seen chugged downed the 3rd beer. I always tipped him two so he got a cold one for himself and 1 for the pocket.
We went to Orient Beach twice but it was pretty much dead as it is off season. Saw the burned out restaurant next to ??? can't at this time remember the name of the one that didn't get burned but they had some good Margarita Shrimps and met the owners who were from somewhere on the East Coast.
Ate at Ricks place for Breakfast and had good service but should have tried the Egg Baguette....Looked Good.
Best Steak has to be Peg Leg Pub!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Melts in your mouth. I compared it to better than Ruth Chris Steak House. Also had the Lobster there and was equally as good.
The only time I came across Euros was at the Dingy Dock Bar at Captain Olivers Marina as they had run out of American Money. Used Green backs the whole way and the only place that didn't give me back a 1-1 ratio was the Arawak Bar and Restaurant in Marigot. Never saw a Dutch Gilder the whole time. Visa worked all over the place.
I have only one big question?????????? How did so many Chinese Restaurants and stores get on the Island if they have such a strict emigration policy?
