Please explain to me when sitting on a beach in SXM even during a flu outbreak should be outlawed? Vitamin D and fresh air cure ailments. This is not Spring break in Florida where they are partying and on top of each other. Social distancing means elbow room...

I would suggest contacting the country of France and ask them.
Florida has now pretty much cancelled spring break.

Hey, I understand but not obeying orders in another country can be a very dangerous thing. This is more than about closing the beach down and someone thinking ranting on a facebook page is going to produce results. The person who was ordered off the beach was really pushing the situation and not at all in a smart way IMHO.
Do you think I was thrilled about paying a lot of extra $$ to cut a vacation short and return home early? It was not a pleasing thought when it quickly appeared I might be there for 4-6 weeks or more.

While I would agree with you that sitting on a beach in and of itself is not harmful and may well have health benefits, that's not what the ban is sbout. Extreme measures unfortunately have become necessary to flatten the curve of this deadly virus. The problem is the people that think their judgement s better than the trained professionals whose job it is to protect us from ourselfs. Bottom line, obey the directives issued and think of others when you don't want to comply with what you think is unnecessary.

Well stated. Having worked for a form of the US Government, it is typical to "throw a blanket" over a situation on the immediate reaction with the hope of covering as many things as possible. Not always a favorable reaction by those impacted but how it is often done.
