Today we started our journey to the island. Living in “Flyover Country”, you can’t get anywhere without driving a couple of hundred miles first. So we left our home in central Illinois about noon today and headed for Indianapolis, for a 0700 flight in the morning for SXM via Charlotte.

We arrived at our park and fly hotel about 1600 and got checked in. After a quick dinner we returned to our hotel to settle in for a relaxing evening, before a full day of travel towards our little slice of paradise, known as Saint Martin.

We are looking forward to returning to our Mont Vernon studio that we rent, and getting reacquainted with some of the folks we have met in the past, and making new friends on this trip, as we always do.

But most of all we look forward to being away from the day to day responsibilities of work, and just relaxing for a while.

I plan to post a report each day of our stay on the island that will hopefully convey our activities, and thoughts through words and photos. I hope my post won’t bore you, and that you get some enjoyment from them…
