Well let me start out by saying it was a great trip. This was the 1st time we stayed in our unit 5206 at the Royal Islander and we loved the room, the view, the staff and the area! For those worried about the sickness going around we didn't notice anything in the area. We used AAA car rental thru Alain and everything was perfect - car was new and comfortable. As far as food we ate a few nights at Moulin Foo. Had some great Caribbean lobster, wine and escargot. And the guys there bend over backwards to please you. My wife says the french onion soup was the best she ever had. Ate at Sopranos also and we did like the pizza but they screwed up my pasta another night and didn't go back. The last night I was kind of full so I had a burger at Bajatzu(?) and it was one of the best I ever had. Plus it was nice sitting at the outside bar watching the world go by. Tried to get to Spiga but never made it - couldn't find a parking space. Ended up going to Orient Beach for the CO experience - 4x's! Lotsa of cruise ship gawkers though. I gave the woman next to me a lot of credit for yelling at an obvious person taking pictures. Did the sitting on the towel thing while having lunch - that was an experience in itself! Also fell asleep on the lounge chair - that hurt the next day. Stopped off at Dreams and what a nice place and the owner Bruno was a very personable guy. They don't have a breakfast menu yet so you just kind of wing it. I had a omelette, coffee, and orange juice very well arranged with a little salad and toast. It was very nice but at $15 euros pp it was a bit much for breakfast. Oh and you have to stop at Serafina's in Marigot - the pastries are awesome! Especially the strawberry tart! Oh and if you're in the market for Cuban Cigars then you have to get them at the Sunrise shop in Maho - talk to Mack. He has great prices on them. What else- hmm the beaches. All the beaches that we visited had sand and seemed perfectly OK, Orient, front of RI La Plage and the airport strip and by the cruise ships. I have picture but I don't know how to add them here. Once I figure it out then I'll post a few. A couple of minor problems was with the SIM card. I went to Sharon's and got a Chippie SIM for my old iPhone and it worked but the service stunk. I remember a few years ago I had a Telem SIM and it worked perfectly. Couldn't find an area that sold them but then noticed that Sunset beach bar has a machine that sells SIM cards and time. I also didn't care for the woman that helped me at Sharon's - she seemed like she was being put out. She spoke very softly in her island dialect and I was having trouble understanding her directions. At one time she said "hurry up man time is money". I was civil and ignored it. And the other problem was the casino - I lost!
