I just read that quad tours are being allowed to cross the French border, as well as American tourists with their passport and a negative covid test result.

Surprising, considering there was a protest on the French side yesterday morning, as reported in the Daily Herald. No mention of any meeting with French officials, so would be surprised if there was a change of policy, when they didn't even meet with the protesters.

Daily Herald story

I don't know whether there was a change in policy or not; just that it was reported by two people who live on the island that this is happening.

Elaine--Sorry, the gendarmes think they shouldn't be blocking the border, or tired of people complaining about it, or what? So they are letting people through even though they shouldn't?

All of the above, Both sides - lots of rules, no enforcement.

If the rules are not enforced, it is only lip-service for safety.
