I know the country and the river... Now I have to think of which town it is.

It is definitely the Mosel in Germany. Hills on one side, winding small river which rules out the Rhein and the Main rivers. Could it be Traben-Trarbach?

It is indeed the Mosel - I figured this would be an easy one for you! It's not Traben-Trarbach but it's close. Let me see if I have another photo to help narrow it down.
