Not sure of the name of the town but the Island is called Nisyros ..we left Kos for a two week flotilla around the Dodecanese area of the Greek isles. This stop was incredible and we even walked on the floor of this dormant volcano ...the tiny dot in the middle is my husband

Hi. Neat pictures. I have no guesses even, though. Generally when someone posts a pic and no one has a guess, the original poster gives a clue or two, to help out the people trying to guess. Clues do NOT have to be pictures.

I would guess the Azores, but not sure which Island. I have only been to Terceira and I do not think it is that one.

I'm not bored as these are great pictures. I don't know where they were taken, but like a few more folks here, I'm practically out of photos to post. Keep on posting!

Thanks Kim for keep it going.
Here is the next one.
The answer is going to have to be pretty specific on this one.

What appears to be missing are the names (and perhaps bodies) on the graves. I'm guessing that it might be Israel and perhaps something to do with the Holocaust?

North Africa is correct The shot is from the back, hence no names There are 8,000 buried there but no GI Joes

And I was going to guess Gallipoli but that is not in North Africa. The only applicable site that I can think of is the battle (cemetery) of Alamein. That was the site of two battles where there were many casualties.

El-Alamein Egypt is correct. It may have been the battled that changed the war. The cemetery is in the desert not far from the sea - just miles and miles of nothing - heat sand and more sand Tank crews are buried together with three headstones to mark their resting place And the amount of unknown graves is overwhelming There is a very good museum close by. The desert that surrounds the area still has lots of unexploded ordinance and after a wind storm vehicles and tanks are still be found. In 2008 they found a truck that was in the desert and it started and they drove it to the museum... crazy.

I would say definitely French, my guess is Caribbean, afraid to guess where I think it actually is, as don't want to overwhelm Kim with having to post too many pictures.
