Tuesday. Kings day. Sounds a little weird to me because we were lucky enough, probably 30 years ago when we were in Amsterdam for Queen's.Day. It was a massive celebration with bands playing on barges and revelers slowly streaming into and out of pub after pub.

As for our day, we did the usual, get up, make coffee, walk to lobby for temp check and proceed to watch the birds and the boats while drinking coffee and eating pastries. Then our walk down to Divi and back and then omelettes on the porch. Another rough morning. Spent the whole day swimming and lounging.

We were hungry early so we headed up the hill to Mark's Place with the hopes of picking up a couple of things at Carrefour. Unfortunately the grocery store closed at 1pm due to the holiday but Mark's was open. Virtually had the place to ourselves. Wow do they pile the food on. Crab cake appetizers are huge and tasty. Wife had the Chicken Curry Stew and I had a huge ribeye. In addition to big helpings they include a salad, and a chunk of mac-n-cheese plus a potato. Wow we were full practically before we started our entrees. Brought lots of leftovers home which should provide steak omelets or sandwiches.

We got in the car just as it started raining and half way down the hill it became torrential. Got a little wet leaving the car but surprisingly we did not melt.

Another successful vacation day.

You can't go wrong with Mark's Place! I always have enough food left over for TWO meals! smile Driving in rain like that, especially in a strange place, always makes me nervous. Glad you got home OK.

Mark's Place is so close to The Belair that it really is short and easy drive. So that is good. However for me I've been driving around the island on and off for years that really seems familiar to me.
