Is Boaty Ball reliable?
Is there any way to reserve a mooring weeks or months in advance?

You can’t reserve more than a day in advance unless you become a extra special boatyball customer in which case I think they allow a week. The price to be special was something like 450.00 dollars. Reserving much more in advance than that would turn things into a nightmare and is not really practical as weather and boat issues often require changes in float plans.
Boatyball itself is reliable the only issues being finding someone on the ball you reserved who does not want to leave.
