Tuesday
Breakfast and lunch were in. Swim, nap, watch airplanes come and go, swim again. Dinner was at Fat Tony’s. They were fairly busy as Tuesday night is their steak night, for $20 bucks you get pretty good size steak, huge bake potato loaded with sour cream and cheese, roll and a salad. DH said the steak was very good and cooked just right, medium as ordered. I am not really being a steak person, ordered BBQ ribs with fries and coleslaw. All was good also. Few Caribs and steel pan music to accompany all that. Back home to digest.

Wednesday
Breakfast in as usual, dip in the pool and off to Parrot Ville. We stop there every time we visit SXM, what a nice place to stop in. Very beautiful colorful birds of all kinds, they give you a cone filled with seeds to feed the birds. They land on the cone and eat practically out of your hands. Very nice people run this bird sanctuary and are very appreciative of you stopping in and supporting their business. They charge $10 per person.
By then it was lunch time so stopped at BBB for hamburger and hotdog. Both were very good. Menu there is just about the same as it was before, all beer is $4, happy hour every day 5-7 with some food specials, different every night.
Back home for a dip and a nap. Dinner was in, consisting of ham steak and some fried potatoes with onions. We bought a big hunk of French ham at Carrefour and have been feeding off of it for breakfasts also. It is so good. Some wine to complete the evening.

Thursday
Just coffee and fresh fruit for breakfast and off to the pool for a dip.
After that decided to go to Maho to do some shopping. Stopped at jewelry store next to the Maho pharmacy. Got some Irish whiskey as a gift to our dog sitter and a carton of cigarettes for our son (yes, he still smokes😢).
On the way back stopped at Maho marked to pick up a baguette to make a sandwich for lunch as we are still feeding off that ham! Most mornings we go to Cafe Atlantico or Jule’s bakeries to get our fix of the French bake goods.
Dip in the pool and a nap.
Dinner was at Palapa Grill tonight. I know this place does not get mentioned here whole a lot but it was second time we enjoyed this restaurant, with first being in March of 2020, just before Pandemic lockdown. It does not look like much from outside but once you enter it has Zen atmosphere with Balinese like decor. The menu is basically a Steak house menu with some additional items. We decided just to get whole bunch of appetizers-smoked salmon, shrimp ceviche, beef carpaccio, coconut shrimp, Vietnamese beef salad and scalloped potatoes served all at once. Everything was delicious and we ate every bit of it, washing it down with a bottle of Merlo. Place was full but service was still excellent. Highly recommend this restaurant.
So this concludes our next three days activities report with three more days to go.
Life is good, we are lucky to be here.

A week ago Tuesday, we ate at Fat Tony's!! Nice music and steak. We need to try Palapa Grill next time, as we haven't tried it yet.

Enjoy the rest of your stay!

Luda,

Good to hear someone else enjoys Palapa Grill as much as we do. I’m not much of a steak person but my DH still maintains one of the best steaks he ever had on island was from there. We both have done Fat Tony’s steak night and enjoyed it, too. Nothing gourmet or fancy, for sure, but darned good for the price paid. Just not quite up to Palapa Grill - the ambience is somewhat lacking, ya think?! But LP is hard to top for ambiance.

Keep enjoying your time - we are, too.

Respectfully,

pat
