After dealing with all the EHAS testing/process and the US reentry tests with no positives for a big group it makes me wonder how many positives are keeping people from coming to the island and how many positives are keeping people from leaving for the USA.

It would seem at some point a judgement could be made as to whether it is all worthwhile in time/money/hastle.

Does anybody know of anybody who had their plans ruined by a positive test in either direction?

PS, I'm pretty sure the airport lines and crammed buses arent helping reduce transmission.

Yes, we met a lady on the beach at Cupecoy who tested positive before a planned trip from US last November. Turns out she actually did have it and her boyfriend got it later. They had to forfeit their airline tickets, but I believe they own a condo, so accommodations were not a big deal. I've never heard of anyone getting stuck on SXM with a positive.

I'm sure there are lots of others who also had to cancel trips because of positive tests, not surprising. What I am surprised at is that they had to forfeit their tickets, as at that time, all the airlines were doing pretty much free cancellation and/or re-booking later..

I had a group of my children and grands and their spouses booked for Simpson resort for our Anniversary.. Out of 23 only one tested positive and he and his wife had to cancel. They did a credit for their air.
