While we try to enjoy lunch out every other day and decided against lolo food, we tried a restaurant that we have never been to before Villa Royale in Grand Case
Not a fancy French restaurant, more of local cuisine
Many locals were in the dining room while the rest of the street was empty, they must know something
for a casual restaurant the service from Christine was friendly and excellent
They have a list of "fishbowl" cocktails and the bartender made us "game on" and it was, a take on a mojito which was well balanced that I think it disappeared before our appetizers diapperared
we started off with a sample of christophine, stuffed crab, house sausage (we choose 2 conch omitting the blood sausage) and cod fritters.
not fancy but all very good
mahi mahi was my main course while my wife's mahi tacos were simply perfected cooked "mahi" fingers with fried tacos and avocado on the side, a small portion which was fine after the sampler
we had no room for dessert

for such a casual restaurant the bartender made contact from behind the bar to make sure we enjoyed our drink and Christine was awesome

Thanks for the review. We've been past many times and never stopped in. It's now on the list for our December visit (if we are able to go).

Wow, that is some drink!! Off the top of my head, this place doesn't ring a bell. Where is it exactly?

it's close to bridge & main parking in Grand case. Coming from spiga way on left after bridge. Nice place.

Dave,

Same thing, been past a hundred times and even remember before it was a restaurant called Spicy which I can't remember much about
I think I wanted to try Spicy for a reason, either the chef or the owners
Anyone remember Spicy which is now Villa Royale

Spicy was great! Glad to know where Villa Royale is, and that they're open for lunch as well as dinner.

I remember Spicy! It used to be a favorite. The owner/hostess was a delight! She was having health issues back then and I thought she went back to France for treatment.
