Not good, yes, but doesn't really affect SXM.. It does if St. Martin was the last or near-last stop. Some of these 48 no doubt disembarked and mingled with the local population.

It was a huge ship. You think 48 out of over 6000 pax is a lot? Walking around a crowded mall this time of year is more risky. The media loves gloom and doom. It sells Correct. I wonder what the spread would be if we still had something known as the "seasonal flu"? I bet it would be well over the less than 1% in this scenario.

It was a huge ship. You think 48 out of over 6000 pax is a lot? Walking around a crowded mall this time of year is more risky. The media loves gloom and doom. It sells 48/6000 is a lot when you compare it to the numbers around the country. It amounts to about 800/100,000 people. The highest rate nationwide is 272/100,000 in Tompkins, NY according to the NYT. The ship would have three times the rate of the worst place in the country.
