Hi -

Does anyone have any information to share regarding taking a St. Thomas based catamaran bareboat charter to the BVIs now? It's hard to find clear guidelines, so I'm hoping this forum can help. Has anyone cleared recently in the BVIs on a boat you chartered out of a base in the USVIs?

1. Is this currently permitted?
2. Can we clear customs at Sopers Hole or do we need to go to Road Town (assume we will be arriving around noon on a weekday)?

I believe it depends on the boat and whether the owner/charter company has enabled the specialized permitting process for non-BVI flagged boats to operate in the BVI. Check with the specific charter company.
