We just returned from a fabulous week in the BVI's for Spring Break with kids this time. (We went 4 years ago for the wife's 40th with all adults)
2 families, 4 adults and 5 kids in all. (kids were 9 year old boy, 13 year old girl, 14 year old boy and 2, 16 year old boys)
We uploaded VAX cards to the USVI portal and got the green QR code.(take a screen shot of all those and have them all together on your phone, print for back up. They just scan your phone screenshot)
We tested at home on Thursday evening before the trip with the Emed Binax Now.
We traveled from Charlotte, NC to St. Thomas.
We took a taxi to Red Hook and water taxi over to Tortola, sat on the boat with cocktails while the water taxi handled the paperwork.

Made it to Nanny Cay around 4pm to the Marine Max base.
We ate at Omar's dockside at the marina and watched the Final Four.

We did a sleep aboard and left the dock around 9:30 or 10 after we finished some last minute provisions.

Day 1: Sunday
We snorkeled the Indians and Caves and then went and got a mooring ball at Norman. We went to the Willy T for the kids to jump off and then had dinner at the beach restaurant.
We were on the Willy T’s on Sunday afternoon and the locals were there for a birthday party. Marijuana was everywhere and the kids eyes got REAL BIG.

Day 2: Monday
We headed to the wreck of the Rhone. The wives stayed aboard and my wife got seasick while we were snorkeling. The boat was rolling pretty good. We then headed to Cooper and had to anchor and we got off the boat and went to lunch. We then motored all the way up to Saba rock and met some other families from our same hometown that happened to be there doing the same thing with kids for spring break. We watched the tarpon feeding and had a few cocktails. The place is gorgeous but cocktail service was slow. We cooked on the boat that night.

Day 3: Tuesday
We went across to Leverick Bay first thing and I had a safari truck rented for the day. We went to the Baths. It was a little crowded due to cruise ships but we all enjoyed it.
We ate at Coca Maya for a late lunch. It may have been everyone’s favorite of the whole trip. We cruised the back roads home and stopped off at Hog Heaven for a beer and got some ribs to go.
We ended up at Michael Beans Happy ARRR and cooked on the boat….

Day 4: Wednesday
We left Leverick around 8:30 and headed to Anegada. We rented another truck and explored the island, snorkeled at Loblolly and went to Tipsy's at Cow Wreck.
We made reservations and had lobster at Potters that night. We ate at Wonky Dog last time and it was amazing. Potters was good but not great.

Day 5: Thursday
Left Anegada and headed to Jost. We stopped at Sandy Spit and dropped the kids off and then went back and joined them after about an hour. We went around to Great Harbour and White Bay and there weren’t any mooring balls.
We went with Plan B, we went to Cane Garden Bay and there were quite a few mooring balls. The first ball was way to close for our comfort to another boat. We moved and had a great sunset and grilled beef tenderloin on the boat.

Day 6: Friday
We left Cane Garden bay that morning and went over to White Bay. We anchored up and went to Soggy Dollar, walked the beach, kids snorkeled and played and had Lobster Quesadillas somewhere down the beach.
We wanted to be back near Nanny Cay for our 8:30 water taxi on Saturday morning.
We went back around to Norman and talked about going other places, but we decided to stay. We spent the afternoon snorkeling and floating . We went back to the Willy T’s for the kids to jump a few times and it was a completely different atmosphere.
We all had fun and we ended up back at the Beach Club for supper.

GREAT TRIP! Our kids loved it and the other family we took is already wanting to make plans to go back.

The testing and portals etc are a pain but very manageable. The water taxi was expensive but worth it. They handled everything and I had cocktails.
We cleared back into the US at St Johns and it was VERY busy.

We carried a small carry on cooler with us and had 2 beef tenderloins, homemade spaghetti sauce, and fresh smoked Boston butt. This made for some easy meals on the boat.

We didn’t use Boaty Ball and didn’t have a problem at all until Thursday. It was pretty busy down in the islands but nothing too bad.

Everything has gotten EXPENSIVE, and or course I was paying for 5 people this trip versus 2 last time.

We burned $992 in fuel the entire trip. We ran the generator every night, all night.

I wish I could do it all over again right now.

Nice report. Thanks for posting! Too bad Saba Rock can't figure out their bar service.
