Arrived Saturday on Delta from JFK. We were only flight in at arrival so breezed through customs and immigration. Waiting for the Luggage was another story. Once we had our rental car we headed straight to BSV. Checked in, changed then dropped by friends Villa for welcome cocktail then off to Maho Market for some simple food items to stock refrigerator. Dip in the ocean and then off to dinner with friends.

Dinner at Izi last night was very good. David and I ordered off the special menu and our friends from the regular menu. Shrimp & asparagus risotto for me and Veal saltimbocca with fettuccine for David. Ended with a nicely frothed cappuccino and thereafter a complimentary limoncello.

Woke up Sunday to a sunny hot day. Before spending today onsite we went to SALT at The Morgan Resort & Spa for a delightful breakfast. Both
outdoor and inside dining is offered which are beyond the lobby entrance. We opted to eat outside overlooking their infinity pool. Nice view and comfortable chairs.

Regular Bloody Mary’s for the boys but a “loaded” one for me. Two pieces of lobster, 2 steak bites, a shrimp, piece of mozzarella were skewered on stick and placed inside BM along with green olives and an asparagus stalk. It was certainly indulgent but worth it to me. Very enjoyable. I ate lobster eggs Benedict served over spinach on an English muffin with spiced hollandaise. The sauce tasted like most good hollandaise, I didn’t taste any spice although I’m not complaining the Benedict was good. A small portion of rather lackluster home fries and a broiled tomato were side kicks to the star of the plate.

David had French toast which came with chocolate whipped cream cheese and a mango compote. He didn’t want the compote so they substituted a nice small assortment of fresh sliced fruit. Mike had a meat lover’s omelette which he said was good. Service was very good. I liked several other breakfast items on the menu so I would return. Breakfast and lunch prices I thought were reasonable. Dinner is definitely on the higher end. 15% service charge was added at both Izi and SALT.

Exhausted from the early travel day before, and a big breakfast today we decided to go low key for dinner. Went to Driftwood for grilled shrimp salad ( at least 8 perfectly grilled shrimpand a burger for David. A Rum punch finished it up.

David wanted to watch the Football game so we went to 3 Amigos but didn’t stay that long. Way too hot at the bar. No breeze so we were uncomfortable.

That loaded BM sounded to loaded for me. I like mine a little simpler. I have no problem with the added 15% but when they do that it's all they get from us.

Thanks for sharing your visit with us and look forward to reading all your reports. They help pass the time until we return in Dec. Not sure if your loaded BM is a cocktail or a lite meal. Didn't know about the restaurant inside the Morgan so will add it to the list. Enjoy your time.

So happy to know you’re there and off to a good start on your trip. Have to agree - that BM sounds more like a lite meal to me but I’m sure it was delish.

Enjoy your stay……and thank you for the beautifully done trip report.

Respectfully,

pat

SALT sounds like a nice place. They used asparagus in the BM instead of celery?

What a wonderful first two days of your trip!

We’ve never been to IZI. Might have to try it next month.

Enjoy each day to the fullest!

Yes and I’ve done that myself at home. I also like a piece of candied bacon but then it certainly is a meal

Hope you have a great stay. We’ll be following you at BSV in another 2 weeks. And that BM sounds delish!
