Curiosity on my part for future trips.
Has anyone ever been stuck on the White Sands side of the runway and missed a flight? The potholes on White Sands and the overblow of sand by Maho Beach always trouble me……..
Respectfully,

I have seen cars seriously getting stuck in that sand there. I almost did one night driving alone along that road. I really don't know if anyone has missed their flight, but it could happen. That and the cruise crowds are my only concerns with staying in that area.

The Lookin-loos on that stretch of road scare the beJesus out of me. Between them not paying attention and respecting the fact they are actually on a busy road; trying to balance on the medium divider as they walk atop it; and drinking while doing all the preceding. We saw a guy slip off the divider and land into a car one time. I think beyond a little bruising and a lot of embarrassment on his part all was okay but I know, had that happened to me I would have been horrified.
I mean, I get it but they scare me with the idea of what could possibly happen.
