That article is very misleading. The earthquake's epicenter was 6.6 at 10KM depth, but not when it reached the BVI, over 150 miles away. I grew up in Japan and have been through several quakes. A 6.6 would have flattened the BVI infrastructure; somewhat similar to what IRMA did. see the USGS Earthquake Map to get the real information. I can't believe that this is the official news. It was a 3.0 earthquake when it hit the BVI, and the Richter scale has this to say about a 3 earthquake: "Often felt by people, but very rarely causes damage. Shaking of indoor objects can be noticeable."
