Wednesday was off to a slow(er) start than usual. Coffee in the unit with some cookies/biscuits from the grocery. Headed out to Orient and had lunch at the Perch (for obvious reasons, no pictures). We had a BLT, Cheeseburger, fries and fried chicken wings, one soda and one beer. I forgot to note the cost, but I think it was around $40. Happy hour is 1:30 to 2:30, 2 for 1. It was not a great weather day, with intermittent light showers and no direct sunshine. There was a lot of sargassum in the water, and a two-foot-wide pile along the high water mark that you had to navigate to get in or out of the water.

We decided on Beirut in Simpson Bay for dinner. We sat outside, under the canopy. At first it didn’t seem too busy, but the crowd started to come in. We ordered Hummus, Baba Ghanoush, and the Chicken kebabs, each with a side Greek salad, and rice for the wife, mixed veggies for me. They serve a complimentary cup of lentil soup. Here’s where it went downhill. The waitstaff was overwhelmed by the number of people who came in. The appetizers were delivered OK. I have to say that the portions seemed smaller, and the taste was different, for sure. My wife always loved their Baba Ghanoush, but this one was very heavy on the lemon. The Hummus was just watery and had no body. We are not food critics by any stretch of the imagination, but this was different, maybe a new chef/recipe. The main course was delivered, and the kabobs were fine, as were the sides. There was no follow-up by the waitstaff, and it took a while for them to come back. They were running around crazy trying to take care of tables. When the waitress came back, I ordered a Turkish coffee, and my wife ordered the molten chocolate cake. I also asked if the leftovers could be boxed up. She said she would get us three boxes, which she brought over and put on the table. The coffee was great, but the molten chocolate cake was barely warm inside. Bill was $99 with the Service Charge.

Thursday was Breakfast in the unit. Coffee, eggs, toast, and fruit. We headed down to the pool for a couple of hours. Then we were off to Tijon in Grand Case. One of her anniversary presents was a perfume making class of her choice; she has been wanting to do this. She opted for the shorter 90 minute class. While she did that I drove over to Cadisco to fill up the tank, and stopped at Rancho del Sol for an espresso.

Dinner was at Ocean 82 in Grand Case. We were seated near the water, even without a reservation. The menu is heavily French as you would expect. We ordered two cocktails, bottled water, French Onion soup, Lobster Bisque, filet mignon with potato gratin, roast duck breast with potato gratin, and the Grand Marnier Souffle. The service was very good, and the food and views were great. The bill was $165.

Nothing is worth dying for unless it's to risk your life saving a loved one. Just saying.

Yes Carol. I must start to read what I write before posting. And Scuba should I end up on death row that soufflé's would be my last request.
