We are planning our next trip in April and would prefer to avoid the crowds from the Puerto Rican Navy regatta if possible. Do they always come down the week before Easter?

They are lovely and very fun people! If however you want to be able to see the beach and or enjoy a quiet night on your boat it can be best to avoid their favorite places. Photo’s give a hint why. If on the other hand you want to party till dawn they will welcome you with open arms!

GeorgeC1's pics were all at Savannah Bay on Virgin Gorda. I know they like to come over from Puerto Rico around July 25th (Christmas in July), but don't know about their schedule for April.

Savannah Bay is certainly a favorite but lots of other places get busy. Here is a White Bay shot.

Many will come the week before Easter yes.

They are simply lovely people vacationing with their families. Most stern into shore and raft up like the pictures.

I have seen them in Cane also.

They don’t interfere with mooring balls etc. they party hard and love loud music but join the fun!

That said if you prefer quiet at night that time of year you will likely find the navy in all their glory. smile

That.Looks.Awesome!

Having said that though, I can certainly see where it could become too much of a good thing.

Would be fun to be able to drop in and join in the party but then bug out and recover somewhere.

I have partied with them on several occasions but I was a lot younger. I get cranky after 10pm now! I can’t keep up with the grandmothers! That is one of the cool things. When they come to the BVI they bring everyone in the family. Often 3 generations on a boat!

And one of the first groups to come to the BVI en masse after Irma/Marie and bring supplies...they always will have my appreciation and respect even my party days a long in my rear view mirror

Don't know about other anchorages, but when they leave Savanna Bay, there's not a speck of trash to be found. Seem to always leave it better than when they got there.
