We have never eaten here. Was thinking about it as an option for the day we arrive. What's the delay from when you arrive until you get the food? Was thinking about going to Carrefour for groceries and picking up carry out to take home.for dinner. Just don't want to wait around a long time for food. What are people's favorites from here?

It's about a 15-minute wait if you order on premises. But you can call ahead and have it ready for pickup. I've never had a bad meal there so order what appeals to you. I understand the drinks are also quite good, but I haven't had one.

I’ve been to both of them, very efficient, it probably depends on what you order but they’re not slow. BBQ chicken is my go to, and they have 2 versions of plantains. Very friendly staff.

We finally went last November and we were quite impressed. Food was delicious and quickly prepared and the place itself was immaculate. Nothing fancy but it didn’t need to be as it was that pleasant.🙂🙂
Respectfully,
pat

Linda--Huhm, OK, not wanting to wait that long. Perhaps we will check it out some other time. Last time, we went shopping at Carrefour and I walked over to Mark's and ordered from there while Eric finished shopping. Perhaps we will do that again.

Well, then call while you are en route. You're really missing out if you don't give them a try.

We’ve never eaten there on arrival but it has become our regular stop on the way to the airport as we head home. Great food and service. Also, you can sit on the porch and eat while you keep an eye on your car with all your luggage in it.

We ate there once and took food to go another time. Good bbq chicken and sides. The cocktails were good and the staff very friendly.

CharlieandElaine--we will go by BSV and drop off our luggage before heading out to the grocery store regardless.
Linda--I think we will go by there and eat there one time. I looked at their menu online and I was just kind of confused as to the choices. So I think I would prefer to study the menu more before just ordering over the phone.

I just looked at their menu and it has way more range than they had when they opened which was rotisserie chicken and sides. So, they must be doing good to be offering all the burgers and such.
You have to watch the series “Breaking Bad” before going though which is where they got the idea for the name. They used to have a hint the Heisenberg character in the men’s room.
We always liked as it was close.

I'll just chime in with we have been to Pollos Hermanos quite a few times because it's pretty good value. When My wife and I were working close by we would get a taco salad with pulled chicken on top to go and share it. It's plentiful.

Ritchard--do they make a taco salad with beef on top? Just never got into a taco salad with chicken.

I'm not sure, Carol, though they do serve a burger, they're pretty chicken focused.

One of my favorite things on their menu are the chicken wings. Your choice of three different toppings. I always get parmesan/garlic as I think the other two aren't Keto-friendly, but I can't remember what they are. You also can get half a chicken, plus smaller portions. It's really a great value, and good. The menu is extensive.

We love Pollos. We get the half chicken roasted with Mash Potatoes and salad. Very good value when you don't want anything fancy.etc.

Polos is also one of the restaurants on orders.sx for delivery of takeout food.

..speaking of orders.sx, how long does food normally take to come from there? And do they deliver to Beachside Villas?

It all depends on supply and demand. When I use it in Cupecoy it was about 45 minutes to get orders from Polos Hermanos. It was Friday or Saturday night.

Kim--OK. I'm still looking for our first meal on island, so I think we will just hit up Mark's after all, unless we pick up something at Carrefour. For Pollow Hermanos, I think we may try to go by there and eat, so we can get better acquainted with the menu. Thanks everyone.

He's not available! He has taken time off to visit his mother, in Chile, who has entered hospice care.

Because you responded to Carol's original post, your comment is very confusing. To whom did you mean to respond?

Georgia--I couldn't figure out what was funny and who was funny, but I thought I was just slow.

It was going pretty funny.
“If you know, you know”, some don’t however.
Gus Fring is the fictional character in the AMC series “Breaking Bad” who runs a chain of chicken restaurants named “Pollos Hermanos”.
The chain is a front for the cartel.
He is very distinguished & polished man who operates his enterprise under the nose of the DEA for which he even visits and sponsors their events in Albuquerque.
Breaking Bad is about a terrible enterprise and shows that crime does not pay and ruins everything in the end. But is a very clever, well written, directed and has great effects and cinematography.

I always turned the channel when it came on. Immediate turnoff. Then I was bedridden in 2013 after surgery the week of the final episode. They were interviewing the actors on AMC. Immediately binge watched the series repeatedly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PdZiYrXRqekVideo is of Warren Buffet talking about BB and he is spot on. Better Call Saul is a spinoff and is all about lawyers and law firms. Anyway, the inspiration for the restaurant in SXM.
