Will be on island in 2 weeks. Haven't been in 15 years. Staying on Orient. Been hearing about the seaweed issues. Fingers crossed that it is less. Always went in July and never remember it. Do we still go for mussels on Thursdays and where is good now?

Seaweed comes & goes. Hopefully it will be gone before you get there but it's usually better down by club o end of beach. I don't eat mussels but la main a la pate in marigot marina sell a lot! Also we love Calmos Cafe Grand Case! Bistro de la mer in marigot had great music Thursday nights & great people & food!

Sometimes they arrive Thursday but won't be on the menu until Friday depending on when they get the shipment. You can always call or WhatsApp the restaurant if you really want them.

Be Kool and Tropicana in Marigot have great Moules-frites!

For mussels, try Sunset Cafe at GCBC, or have them at lunch at Champagne Bistro in Cole Bay. A hidden gem!

Always enjoy them at Mark's. There I am pimping again.

I don't know what beach front you like the most, I will say that KKO and LaPlaya have a tractor that cleans the sargassum every morning when necessary!!! If you love sushi, LaPlaya has the best sushi on the island IMHO!!
