Hello all, we end our charter on Saturday, April 11, but don't fly home until the 12th. We fly out of STT and flight is not until later in the afternoon so we have plenty of time. Looking for recommendations for two things:
1.) Should we overnight on Tortola or STT
2.) Depending on the answer above, where should we stay?
Not looking to stay at the Ritz, but certainly looking for somewhere "decent"

I stay at The Emerald Beach Resort on STT coming and going from my Tortola home..check it out

Usually we've also stayed overnight at the Emerald Beach. This works well:

• After turning in the boat, take any available ferry to St. Thomas. No worries about issues such as the ferry running late.
• Nice restaurant and bar at the Emerald Beach.
• Nice beach and swimming in Lindbergh Bay.
• Close to the airport. It's walkable, but we've always taken a taxi because of luggage.

At least one time we had the minor annoyance that our room was not ready for the first couple of hours after we arrived.

We did thing differently on our most recent charter.

• Spent the last night of the trip docked at the charter base in Road Town.
• Caught an early ferry in the morning.
• Had a relaxing lunch at the French Quarter Bistro.
• Taxi to the airport in plenty of time for a late afternoon flight.

This packs more into one day and is a little riskier if anything goes wrong, but it went smoothly. In your plan you won't have the boat for that last night. Perhaps others here can recommend a Road Town hotel -- maybe Maria's (which is very close to the ferry terminal). Or you could stay farther away, like on Cane Garden Bay, but then you'd have to get a taxi early enough to catch the ferry.

BTW French Quarter Bistro is my go to for dinner in renchtown..terrific Louisiana cuisine ( and other stuff).

+1 on recommendation for Emerald Beach Resort. We tried a lot of crummy hotel options on STT before/after taking a ferry to Tortola before we found EBR. Now it’s our preferred option. Affordable, decent room, good restaurant for breakfast, beautiful beach and easy 15 minute walk to airport if you have rolling luggage. Only downside is no elevator….the buildings are 3 story, so ask for the 1st or 2nd floor if that’s a problem for you.

Assuming it is still there, Olga’s Fancy was fun and near a couple of good restaurants.
