Was ther in March and it was nasty, dirty, sewage pipe leaking sewage right by the dingy dock. The bartenders were surly and slow. We heard it shut down for health and safety reasons for a bit. Heading back in a few weeks with a new crew and they really want to go. Anybody been in the last couple of weeks and have an update?

My crew thinks this is a must-do, but it sounds like a dumpster fire. What is the verdict from most of the BVI veterans? Not worth the hype, or a must-do?

If you must I suggest going during day and avoid evening crowds especially if locals from RT are there...

Interesting. Maybe I was oblivious but last year (about a year ago in fact), we went and had a good time. Bartenders were fun (and happily applied tattoos to our ladies [ahem]) and friendly.

We will go regardless because of all the online hype, and the group is excited. Ill keep this to myself until we get back. Thanks for the info.

We typically go during the day so the kids (teens) can jump. Then the adults go back at night for the craziness. I say it’s a must go. If you get there and don’t like the vibe you can always call an audible and go to Pirates Bight.

It's a great marketing story, NOT a must do. Truly, in my opinion, the only reason to go there is to be able to later tell others that you've been. It's dirty, unsanitary, gross, unappetizing, and unappealing. To each their own...

Interesting perspectives on one of our surviving original attractions. The T is owned by Ewan and Heather who had "Fish and Lime" where the old JR was. I have been on the T probably more than most..my take? I have usually found it fun. I have found the staff to be friendly and enjoying the party they create.The odd thing to me..I think the food is pretty good!I It does get raucous but seldom out of hand. I think everyone should check it out for themselves at least once.Like you check out Foxys and the Soggy..Young folks are going to like it because of the party vibe.I've enjoyed seeing folks enjoy themselves and met some interesting folks..and, as said, enjoyed their food.IMHO..we need more places like that that have stuck to their roots and not gone upscale..

i actually like the food as well...it isnt bad. you should definately check it out once making sure it isnt locals night.

Their hotdog is one of the best you can get. The Tuna at 25.00 dollars is half the price of many BVI locations and just as good! Get it rare with wasabi and soy!

I never saw the Willy T 1, but spent a few days and evenings on Willy T 2 - tremendous fun had in my 20s and .30s......and one day/evening on Willy T 3 in my late 40s..I consider it must do stop - not all our crew do. Food has always been good...bar staff has been overwhelmed at times, and they can be in great moods or surly too....I'm selfishly still chasing the vibes I felt from the first couple of times we visited, and the same can be said about BVI in general too. Never had a bad time, ever. Food is good. Where else are you going to get to jump off a legit pirate ship?

I like mooring near (ish) the Willy T too - makes for some great photos of crew, with Willy T in background....and a closer dingy ride for any night visit.

For what it's worth....there is an amazingly beautiful and unique hike on Norman too....head up the hill first behind Pirates Bight and keep turning right and that will take you all the way around to where you can see the south side of the Bight directly above the Willy T itself....once you see the cactus, you made it to the top....maybe a 1.5-hour or less hike round trip if you snap some photos along the way....there's also a helipad to check out and of course Money Bay, Bluff Bay and Sabu-something bay....I do this hike while my wife enjoys some time at Pirates Bight.

The screaming cold gift shop AC at Pirates Bight feels wonderful after that hike too BTW.

The late night crowd that we experienced on our last visit was young and old and the music was very latin pop...it was a very happy and energetic group.

I agree with going during the day, it's the only time I've had fun there. Night time is creepy IMO

I understand the negative commentary, but for us Willy T was open during Covid when almost nothing else was, and when the owner catches Wahoo it's the best cut of fish we've had in the BVI.

second this!!! Ewan the owner LOVES fishing, and when he catches fresh wahoo or tuna he brings it directly back to the Willie T and serves it there.

Hard to find a better or fresher fish anywhere in the BVI imo.

Ran into a Scottish bartender from the T the other night. He had nothing but great things to say about the T especially the food and really wanted folks to give it a try..even offered some free drinks! My kind of place..and employee!
