The Weather Channel just said that Charlotte Amalie had 11 inches of rain in the past 24 hours. Huh??

The official amount at the airport was 8+". Sun was up in the morning. I guess we are getting a head start on our 45" annually.

Wow, ok, was it pretty localized to STT, as no one from BVI or SXM complained about rain.

And I think it was localized even on the island. On the east end, it rained, but on the west end it poured. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Wink.gif" alt="" />

My rain gauge tops out at 12" and it was full this morning early - I live on top of Crown Mt. STT and it rained long and hard all night Friday and Sat morning.

OK, any landslides as a result?

There were rocks in the road when we drove around yesterday. I haven't heard of any landslides. Evidently the power was out in sections of the island. Quite honestly, where we are, it was a nice little rain that made it easy to sleep, no power outage. It's funny how the topography determines the weather. People on St John hardly got anything....

That's why I was so surprised that I hadn't heard about it from other islands. Didn't realize that much rain could be so localized.

We went to bed with a clear pool. In the morning the entire pool was brown and useless frown This was in Peterborg.
