[b][i]johnrph said . As for the 15% added to the bill, it is common practice on the french side to do this. EVERY restaurant from Oyster Pond to Sandy Ground does it. Not true at all. In fact, during our visit last July, we did not encounter this practice once. And, we dined in Orient, Grand Case, and Cupecoy. We rarely, if ever, return to a place that does. Despite what they say, a service charge is for service <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/duh.gif" alt="" />.

No, but don't ask your server. Some people, if they were happy with the service will add a little more, but certainly not 15% on top of 15%.

I don't actually know where this place is precisely, but some places in Oyster Pond are actually on the DUTCH side.
Have not been to Le Pavillion so have no idea what they do on tip. However, I am trying to think of any FRENCH side restaurant that has added an automatic 15% tip, and can't think of any, except Andy and Cheryl's.

johnrph said: I was in SXM last week and visited Le Pavilion for dinner. It was our best meal of the week. Owners come out and talk to everyone. Food was properly sized for fine dining. As for the 15% added to the bill, it is common practice on the french side to do this. EVERY restaurant from Oyster Pond to Sandy Ground does it. That is simply not correct. On the French side the service is included in the menu price, not added as an additional item to the check.
