Book it! People flying from the east coast are spoiled. I would not even question or think about a fare like this.

Thanks.
Sorry, but from somebody who pays $600-$800 with a connection (like many on this board), the whining about anything over $450 from the east coast gets old.
If I had to worry about $40 or so in fares, I would not be here.

As another who only flys fromJFK, I'd say book it and don't look back, but do make a point of setting up notifications because more likely than not, there will be many slight time changes between now and then.

Louise,
I think that was a purely rhetorical response and not intended to be mean or directed at you personally. And for sure, that poster is not a 'hater' by any sense of the term. And you know what - if you WERE whining, that would be okay, too. I know some who do it all the time.....

As another member on this board told me, if they saw a fare like that they would book 3 trips a year for the next 5 years!
pat, you are correct. I used the term in a rhetorical manner to try and make a point.
As a side note, for the people who fly from the east coast and have the luxury of multiple airports, multiple airlines with non-stop flights that arrive late morning or early afternoon.....what fare do you think is reasonable?
What fare would make you buy and not question if it was a good deal?
Thanks.
J.D.

We usually book as soon as the airfares are posted - around the middle of December for the following October. I am smiling at this thread. If you saw the RT for two from a small urban area in southern Oregon it would make you gulp. We just gulp and don't look back.

gmaja16 said: Flying out of JFK in October to SXM. Should I book the flight now or wait for a better fare. It is currently $436 RT from JFK. Thanks... I think I would have booked it before I even posted it on here We have never paid anything less than $500 RT, but we fly from NO. **edited to add** That was on AA, one stop through Miami

Thank you Bob and Jeana for your kind words and re the SOS comment, it's killing me not to say what I'd like to say, but it's against the rules of the forum to wax political so I will behave myself rather than wreck the thread and take it in a direction we really don't need to go.
