Flights via US Air were ontime and uneventful. Leslie Bruce was waiting for us and the car rental experience was seamless. Off to the Royal Palm to pick up a cell phone from Sharon. This was the worst traffic we encountered. Once we got back into the westbound traffic it was a breeze and we proceeded to the Maho Food Express to secure some provisions. The low point of the vacation was the cardboard packaging on my 12-pak of Presidente tearing, resulting in the loss of three entire bottles of the precious malt beverage. OK I didn't think that would last long enough anyway so I bought another 12-pak. Now we were off to Alamanda via the lowlands and arrived without delay. Checked in and ordered a Tap Five Pizza and got a bottle of French red wine from the top shelf. We never ate inside the entire trip. The next day was breakfast at Baywatch (cheese omelette w/ chili!!), a day @ CO beach in front of the Perch, a late lunch @ Baywatch, more beach and some french bread, cheese and wine for "dinner". This was repeated the next day except we checked out of Alamanda and checked in to Royal Islander for the next week. "Dinner" was a Sunset Beach Bar cheeseburger and drinks. We met many folks that night at SSBB with whom we socialized the next week. We seemed united by the fact that our wives enjoyed "drinking for free". In fact it was a nightly occurrance. I haven't drank on this many consecutive nights since I was in college (many years ago). While on the Dutch side we traveled to Orient Beach (very windy some days), Happy Bay (extremely windy) and Baie Rouge (protected from the wind). I am still drawn to Orient for the social experience. We ate some late lunches at Lee's and Baywatch, and took out some pizza from Pizza Pasta. Every night seemed to end at SSBB. On Saturday we checked in w/ US Air at 10:30 am, returned our phone, went to lunch at Lee's, spent some Beach time @ Royal Islander, showered, went to SSBB, watched our plane arrive, returned our car, and flew home without a hitch. I read a couple of good novels, drank a lot of alcohol, ate casually and returned home well rested. We are returning for a Club O stay in March.
