I know that there are a few lurkers out there who have been to Africa within the past year or so, but no new trip reports recently. Would be interested to hear any recent reports. How about trips to Egypt or Kilimanjaro???

Carol,Unfortunately Karen and I are not going (East Africa)until next August, but will happily give a report then. We can't wait!!! Luckily we have a BVI trip in December to tide us over.

Stan--will be looking forward to the trip report, but in the meantime, maybe you could post where you're going, etc., so we can maybe plan with you?? <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Smile.gif" alt="" />

Let's see, on the List for possible visits:We fly to Arusha into Mount Kilimanjaro airport--thru Amsterdam. (we are thinking about spending a couple of days in Amsterdam to recover from jet lag.)
Then a few places we are considering are Lake Manyara, Tarangire National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. Masai Mara Game Reserve, Samburu Game Reserve, Laikipia Plateau, Amboseli National Park in Kenya. Any thoughts?? Any do not miss spots? Planning 12-14 days in Africa--Do we need more? less? Want to spend at least 2 days at each stop, and are also considering a "flying safari" so that we have more time on the ground for game viewing than traveling cross country. Want to see the Great Migration---possibly by balloon? any thoughts?
 Any info would be helpful.

Stan,
Samburu is great. Stayed at the Samburu Serena Lodge for a couple of days. The game drives are very good. One of the nicest place was Mt. Kenya Safari Club. The lodge was awesome by the game drives were so, so. Do go to the Masai Mara.
