Well, we're back after a wonderful week at Club O!! Our flight down on April 1st was the roughest one we've had yet. Hit a lot of turbulence and for awhile we wondered if the plane was going to hold together! And to top it off the pilot aborted the initial landing attempt because he couldn't see the runway due to a sudden heavy rainstorm. [Linked Image] But we just circled around and by the time we made the second attempt the rain was long gone and we landed without incident. It sure was nice to be on the ground!! [Linked Image]

We had met Mike & Brenda on our flight, and they graciously offered to drive us to Club O from the airport. Thanks!! We quickly checked into our studio, made an appointment for a massage later in the week, and were on the beach with a much needed Carib before 1 pm. Ah, this is the life!! It really warmed our hearts when we walked into Papagayos and were welcomed by one of the waitresses with a “Hey, it’s good to see you back!!” Now we were home!!

That evening we met a great couple, Cathy & Steve G. (Hey guys, we had a lot of fun together that week didn’t we!!!) We crashed early that night since we had been awake since the previous morning.

During our week stay we met many others from TTOL on the beach and at the April 5th get-together and post-sailing party. They included Kevin & Jeanette, Tom & Dorothy, Jeff & Sandy, Pat & Jeff Q. and many others whose names escape us right now. It was also nice to see Carol & Eric again, who surprised everyone by “jumping ship” and arriving a day early for the party (just can’t get enough of the island, eh!).

Thanks to Cathy & Steve, we enjoyed dinner at a number of restaurants including L’Alabama, Le Piccolo, Rainbow and Il Nettuno (sp??) and one morning had a great breakfast at Zee Best in Marigot (their French French Toast was delicious!! – that’s what they called it!). We also visited Pedros once for the required ribs for lunch, Baywatch Bar & Grill for food or drinks and of course Papagayos. April 5th was the 1 year anniversary for Baywatch on Orient Beach and a few of us went over after the TTOL get-together at Papagayos. Andy & Sheryl were gracious enough to give us all a round of drinks on the house in celebration.

We spent much of our time relaxing on Orient Beach enjoying the warm sun, sand, water and friendly conversation with the great people we met. The weather was great all week with only a little rain at night and for about 15 minutes early one morning.

The week went by fast (so this trip report is short [Linked Image]), but hey when it comes down to one week or nothing we’ll take it!! Just 76 days until we visit St. Martin once again!!

Don & Linda [Linked Image][Linked Image][Linked Image]

Edited by Administrator on 4/17/01 02:55 PM.
