A quick trip report...11/04 we flew Spirit out of Tampa to STT, Spirit waited around 30 minutes for an inbound flight from DC to Ft Lauderdale, this made us miss the last STT-VG ferry, we had to go through Roadtown instead. We were stressing a little finally we decided no big deal. Had a nice early dinner at Capriccio di Mare. Caught the last ferry from Roadtown to Virgin Gorda, our first vist, a short one, only 2 days. Stayed at Leverick Bay, it was okay, maybe next time we'll stay at either Nail Bay or Guavaberry. The next day we started hiking to Gunn Point to catch the ferry over to the Bitter End Yacht Club, bad idea! Around half way there a kind soul stopped and gave us a ride the rest of the way. The BEYC is a great place to hang out, did some snorkeling, had a great lunch at the British Pub, including some cold draft beer! The next day we hit The Bath's, very cool, hiked down to Devil's Bay, the water was extremely rough, the swell was defintely up! Had a few cold ones and a nice lunch at The Top of the Bath's, a perfect way to end a day at The Bath's.

Caught the ferry from VG to Roadtown and picked up a rental car from Hertz, drove over the mountain to CGB where we stayed at Agape Cottages for 2 nights. Agape Cottages are great, very nice people! We stayed in J1, a very nice 1-bedroom. Got to see Quito play for the first time. He was everything we heard! He should be charging to hear him play! Also ate at Coco Plums, outstanding as usual, the m'rooms were excellent as was the stuffed chicken.

Wednesday morning we stopped by the Harbour Market and picked up some beer and food for our 3 days on Jost. The market is incredible, they have just about anything one might need. The upstairs is loaded with all kind of gourmet and hard to find items. And the prices were very good, a lb of turkey breast for sandwiches was only $6 a lb, we pay more here in Tampa!

On Yost we stayed at the Plantation Villa of White Bay Villas, it was wonderful! The Plantation Villa has 3 seperate bedrooms, but we were fortunate to be the only guests there, so we had the entire place to ourselves. Great view of White Bay and the lights of St Thomas at night. Jost is still ramping up as far as the peak season, some places weren't yet serving meals, but we made do. Took a cab to Foxy's Taboo one day and hiked on over to the Bubbly Pool, loved it! The swell was up and we had a great couple of hours in the water. We should have ate at Taboo when we were through, Lyne wanted a roti from Foxy's that she spied earlier in the day. Of course by the time we made it back to Foxy's they stopped serving until the BBQ at 7:30. Saw an interesting site during our walk back from Great Harbour to White Bay, a tourist laid out on the front porch of the Customs House, we didn't want to get too close but we saw a bloody bandage on his right hand. His friend standing next to him was yelling at a police officer to do something to help his friend, it seems the tourist got into an altercation with a local, problem is the tourist had a chair, the local had a machete. Can't assume who was in the wrong, but it did appear alcohol was involved, at least on the tourists side. Not a good idea!

Nice spending some time talking with both Ivan and Foxy. I was talking to Foxy about the food at Taboo, he said he didn't eat there, said he couldn't afford it! I told him he needed to talk to the owner about lowering the prices. Ivan was as sweet as ever, his guesthouse is coming along, he's hoping to have it open for guests the end of the year.

Caught the early ferry out of Jost Saturday morning, had a few hours to kill in St Thomas, picked up a few bottles of booze, made it back no problem in our checked luggage.

All in all it was another wonderful week in paradise. Next time maybe instead of land based we'll do a charter, too many beautiful places to see to be land based. Here are a couple of pictures I've so far uploaded to Webshots:
