Headed down Friday for another bareboat cruise (via Moorings)...very excited! Itinerary is traditional CCW and similar to our previous trips, but plan is to be in North Sound an extra day this time on the way to Anegada. We've stayed previously at Leverick Bay and obviously that's terrific. Question is whether we should move for the 2nd night (likely BIYC?). Would be nice to see something new but wonder if it's worth the minor inconvenience of moving...primary purpose of the 2nd day in NS is give some of those on their first trip a little time to relax / slow down. Thoughts?

My personal favorite is to stay on the dock at Leverick for 2 nights. This gives everyone the ability to come and go as they please. Between renting a car to see the Baths and VG vistas, the pool, restaurants, laundry, shopping, etc at Leverick it's easy to spend 2 days.

If you want a fun trip for a few hours, run the dinghy over to the Sandbox. My groups have always had a great time hanging out there and chillin on the beach.

Cheers!

Everyone in our group loved Saba Rock the last time we were there.

What we love about two nights at Leverick is that we can get a rental car the day we arrive, go out to dinner and then use the car the next morning for the Baths, copper mine point, hog heaven..etc.. lots to see on Virgin Gorda.

Two nights at Leverick is my vote. Easy enough to dingy over to The Sandbox from there.

One night at LB and one on a ball at Saba/BEYC. Do the hike at BEYC for some great views. Happy Hour and Tarpon feeding at Saba. If you do Saba/BEYC first then it's an easy ride over to LB the next day with plenty of time to rent a car or taxi a taxi around VG. We had a driver in a safari truck take 9 of us to the baths and then a VG pub crawl on the way back last time...had a blast!

Leverick is great, but Saba is one of my favorite places to sleep on a ball. Just great breezes (almost always) pumping through that opening there between prickly pear and BEYC. Prefer hanging out at Leverick to Saba or BEYC, but snorkeling Eustatia is not to be missed.

I vote for one night at Leverick and one night at Saba. I prefer picking up a ball to the left side of Saba looking out past the reef. Great wind and beautiful view. We walked to Biras, used the air conditioned bathrooms at BEYC and the WiFi at Saba. Another good spot is Sandbox, but I prefer the breeze near Saba.

We just returned from 10 days of heaven, and spent a night on a ball at Levericks, then moved over to the BItter End. Paid only $10 pp to use the pool, grounds, etc. and took an aggressive hike over the mountain behind the resort, Then we took the dinghy over to Saba Rock for sunset and dinner. Great day.

My vote is also for two nights at Leverick for the same reasons. However, unless I missed it, I didn't see anyone mention the water taxi that'll take you from Leverick to most everywhere in the North Sound for free. (now, someone may want to chime in....as I remember it we could go most anywhere and it was free....if that memory was fogged due to rum I hereby void this post! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/jester.gif" alt="" />)

We just returned a few weeks ago and spent one night (Friday) at Leverick. It was a good stop, got off the boat, met Nick and the crew, ate bbq, watched the Jumbies, re-provisioned and topped off boat. It was everything TTOL's say about Nick and his place!

Saba looks like a great stop (wish we would have spent a night there) but we headed out to Anegada. Next time i'll definitely visit Saba, enjoy their happy hour, feed some fish...

I would split the two, one night at Leverick, putter on over to Saba and stay one night there.

So a ball at BEYC is $35, $10pp to use pool, $3 pp to shower $7 for a bag of ice. Wow That is $107 for family of 5 before you even get started! Nick has the deal of the century... really!

That is a big difference!

I'd probably make a decision based on what you want to do during the day and see what fits.

If you've never toured Virgin Gorda by car, do that. If you have, then try something different.

And if the goal of spending two nights in the north sound is to slow things down, that can also be done very nicely in other spots. We've often spent a couple nights at Norman (swapping anchorages there each night) and spent time at the Indian's, caves..etc. We just moved over to a nearby spot for the day and then back for the night. It was very relaxing.

We enjoyed the North Sound for two nights on our trip in May. We stayed at Leverick the first night swam and enjoyed the restaurant and meeting other TTOL'ers Kim and Bridget. The next morning we rented a car for a trip to the Baths, that was very good advice I picked up from this site. That afternoon when we got back from the Baths we went over to Saba Rock for fish feeding and dinner. The ride to Saba via dingy from Leverick seemed a little far because we had to little ones with us so we got a ball. No matter how you cut it we all enjoyed the two day stay at the NS. I would advise anyone to make a two day affair there. Our next trip (Hopefully next June) we will do the same thing and figure on two days at Anegada and Cooper and JVD and !!! I don't think two weeks is enough time to do it all!! Guess we'll have to come back again!

They did have the trip of a lifetime and can' wait to go again. It was great to meet you too. It' really cool to go so far away and meet someone you kind of know or at least have the same interest
