Gil,
Don't know where you're staying, but you could let your fingers "do the walking" and if it were me, I'd probably call Blue Point first (at least I think that's the name?) and if they can't help I bet they'll know who can. It's in the little strip mall (the tall white building on the right if you're heading to P'berg from Simpson Bay) in the ColeBay/Simpson Bay area. They were very helpful to me one time when I had a problem with my netbook adapter getting fried while down there.
And I sincerely apologize up front for being so bad at giving directions.... <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" />

I shop is now open in the Blue Mall and it states they are an authorized reseller. But to be honest, I don't think you can replace the battery in an iPad unless things have changed

boucharda said: They used to have a policy that they (Apple) would replace the Ipad if the battery died because it was not replaceable...maybe the equipment has changed Correct, I think you paid $100.00 and they would trade you for same iPad, refurbished with new battery. Pretty sure there is no way to replace the battery now that I have looked at mine.

wilsonck said: There are no actual Apple Stores in St. Maarten. There is a store called the iStore, that has multiple locations on the island. They are an authorized reseller of Apple products. Actually it was replaced with a replacement Ipad and the data was not transferred. Happened to my father-in-law..

Shipped directly to Apple.... From Apple: "If your iPad requires service due to the battery's diminished ability to hold an electrical charge, Apple will replace your iPad for a service fee." You will receive a replacement iPad that will not contain any of your personal data. Before you submit your iPad for service, it is important to sync your iPad with iTunes to back up your contacts, calendars, email account settings, bookmarks, apps, etc. Apple is not responsible for the loss of information when servicing your iPad."
