Wow!! What a couple of days this has been. Checked e-mail Friday morning and Lo & Behold, US Air/United had canceled our 1st leg to Charlotte. 2+ hours later, thanks to our excellent rep from Orbitz, we were re-ticketed for that leg on AA. Supposedly we were to fly from ORD to Philly, overnight there, and then next day to Charlotte to make the 11:35 direct to SXM. Cool, right? Wrong. Info was not correct. We got to ORD in the middle of the 10-15" snowstorm and found that that flight had been delayed. 3+ hours. Finally, they got us to PHL @ 3 a.m. and I began to check the departures for the flight # that they had given us over the phone, because no documents were printed at ORD. We were told, "Just check in at PHL and it'll be there." Wrong again. No such flight existed. No ticketing at that time of the day either. Got to the PHL Hilton and logged on to check itinerary. We were originally told flight time of 8:30 a.m. to CLT on AA landing at 10:30 to make our 11:35 flight. OOPS!!!!! Correct info was 6:45 a.m. on US Air. Had enough time to shower and go back to the airport. Once all this was done I made the mistake of relaxing. OOPS again!! After standing in line for immigration for nearly an hour we go to the appropriate baggage carousel in SXM and guess what!! No Luggage. We wait and then wait some more. Finally go to baggage claims and were told that it had been on the carousel for 3 hours so they removed it. LIE!!!! We had not even been on the ground there that long. Finally get out of there and meet up with Mr. Bruce from Kenny's Rental Cars. Quick & out of there. Off to see Sharon about our phone. (More on this later.) Again quick & painless. Can't complain about those two vendors. No stories about why stuff didn't happen, just plain high quality service from the get-go. More later.
