We just returned from a 5 day "weekend" in Abaco, Treasure Cay in Bahamas. We stayed at a one bedroom condo apartment in Marinas Cove directly in the center of the resort. After taking a taxi from the Marsh Harbor airport for the 23 mile ride to Treasure Cay, we rented a golf cart for the duration of the visit. The community is secure, surrounded by water and has golf, tennis and diving activities. While September is definitely the slow season, we found restaurants, bars, a well stocked grocery store, and the liquor store open for business! Traveling only by golf cart ($30 per day) was a welcomed break from the usual rental car experience. Slow, but wonderful. We also took a boat ride to nearby Guana Cay for a day of sun, lunch and beach. A nice pace without large jewelry stores or designer bags for sale on every corner.
