Have a chance to trade into Belaire Beach Club. Has anyone stayed there? Opinions? Decent or should I hold out for something else? We would be traveling with another couple so a 2BR works fine. Curious.

The only negative comments I have ever heard about the Belair is the second bedroom is small and it's a little isolated but Front Street is walkable, at least during the day.. Other than that people seem to really love it. A poster here, Tom, is recently back from several weeks there as an owner so you might want to check his notes on his trip. Anytime we've been there I e always thought how nice that all the units have beach/ocean views.

You should check out this recent thread

Belair is an older property, but all units are fully ocean view, with lovely balconies. The location to me is not terribly convenient, if you want to be close to lots of action. The big issue to me with two couples is (possibly) allocating the larger bedroom. I personally would not want to be the couple in the smaller bedroom.

Yes, we just returned from our annual vacation in SXM and we stay at Belair Beach Hotel. This year we stayed 2 weeks, our son and daughter joined us for the 2nd week (we go for 2 or 3 weeks every year).
Belair is small compared to the larger resorts (72? apts., 4 floors).
Pros: Small, quiet, secure, as stated, all apartments face the water, big living room with full size sofa bed, nice beach, pretty good food @ restaurant.
Cons: as stated, 2nd BR is small but has double bed, bathroom and wardrobe, small kitchen with full size fridg., cooktop but no oven other than toaster oven, microwave.etc.
We've been going there every year for more than 25 years.
PM me for any questions you may have. We have lots of pictures we can send you.

Then again, if the 'smaller bedroom couple' is getting a week of free housing in the Caribbean, they might be able to overlook the smaller bed and bedroom space.

Yes, for sure, it depends on what the dynamic is between the two couples. Unless one couple is footing the bill, it is sometimes hard to figure out how to allocate the better room. I can't remember, but I THINK the bigger bedroom at Belair also has an ocean view and the second bedroom no view? Ocean view is very important to me personally.

Yes, the smaller bedroom is just for sleeping....but think about just walking downstairs and on to the beach! There are 2 full bathrooms .....

Actually both bedrooms face the walk way to your apartment. If you want an ocean view you sleep on the sofa bed in the living room with the full length, floor to ceiling glass sliding door/wall.

Lisa,

'Down the stairs and onto the beach' is awesome. We love our Towers timeshare and we do have beach views but it's a ten minute walk to the same beach or a short drive, and the pool is a bit of a walk from the front door, too, as opposed to the pool at Belair. There are trade offs everywhere but I do like the Belair location.

We usually stay at DIVI but last year we couldnt get our second week there so stayed at Belair. I really liked it, a bit old school but that was nice. It is older but everything works and thats all i need. We stayed on the ground floor and loved being able to walk out the slider and there is the beach. If i cant get both of my weeks at DIVI i would stay there again in a second.

Thank you all for the answers. Turns out we were able to get a 2BR at The Towers, so I may be asking some questions about there too. I know it's a walk to Mullet. We will have a car to get to other beaches so if it is too bad we can do that too.

Rick and Grace,

There are several Towers owners on this forum, myself included. Ask away and we'll be glad to respond if we can. If you have a unit number I can probably describe your view if it even matters to you.

We have stayed at Towers many times as our friends own a unit. The walk to Mullet beach is not bad at all, just walk down the drive way and cross the road & past the golf course, maybe 5-10 minutes +/-.

We found a way years ago to avoid the road when going to the casino area - there is a trail around the reservoir to the golf course 14th hole - follow the wall all the way to the entrance to Cupecoy, maybe a 10 minute walk or less - but not at night, very dark.

Coin laundry on site - exercise room too - towel exchange over by the pool/bar area.

The 2BR unit has two full baths, one in the master BR.

These are my tips: hope they help.

I'm sure Pat will advise if any of this has changed.

Sounds like you landed a terrific deal. Towers will be a great vacation spot. You will have easy access to all that SXM can offer and a car to get anywhere you desire.
Enjoy and send us a trip report so we can share and learn about your experience.

Susieville,

Are you refering to the second bedroom at the Towers or the Belair? If the Towers, there should have been one and I'm pretty sure if you were using it you could have asked and they would have made one appear, even if they had to take one out of another room.

Sorry, no TV in second bedroom at Belair. Incredible terrace view in living room (forgot to mention that)
